These terms are an agreement between you and Schafer Sites ("we", "us") for use of the SafeFuel iPhone app (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
SafeFuel is a nutrition and food-logging tool. It helps you track calories and macros and checks the foods you log against a list of triggers you provide.
SafeFuel is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and cannot guarantee that any food is safe for you to eat. Trigger checks rely on food databases and on what you tell us, both of which can be incomplete or out of date. Always read the physical label, follow the advice of your doctor or allergist, and carry prescribed medication such as epinephrine. If you are having a severe reaction, use your epinephrine and call emergency services.
Calorie and macronutrient figures come from third-party databases, principally USDA FoodData Central. The App's AI identifies foods and estimates portions; it does not generate nutrition figures. Estimates can be wrong. You are responsible for checking anything that matters to you.
You need an account to use most features. Keep your credentials to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has access. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account; this permanently removes your data.
Some features require SafeFuel Premium, sold as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual) or a one-time lifetime purchase, through Apple's App Store.
Prices may change; we'll give notice as Apple requires, and any change applies from your next renewal.
Don't use the App to break the law, to attempt to access other users' data, to reverse-engineer or scrape the service, or in any way that could harm it or other people. We may suspend accounts that do.
Meals, photos, symptoms and notes you add stay yours. You give us permission to process them to provide the service (for example, sending a meal photo to our analysis service to identify the food). See the Privacy Policy for what we do and don't do with your data.
The App, its design, recipes, text and code are ours or our licensors'. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where these terms and that agreement differ, that agreement controls for matters it covers.
We work to keep the App running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. Where a change materially reduces what a paid subscription provides, we'll tell you.
The App is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on nutrition figures or trigger checks. Our total liability to you for anything arising from the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
You can stop using the App at any time and delete your account in the App. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (disclaimers, limitations, ownership) do.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK you also keep the protections of your local law.
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when. For significant changes we'll notify you in the App.
